About Me

My name is Jim Murphy and I began Apparently Smart as way to help discover, analyze, and troubleshoot the ways in which society fails to teach how to get to that “next step” in whatever it is you wish to accomplish. This blog exists to showcase my ideas in being a better student on the path to a fruitful career, a better employee on the path to an adulthood of success, and hopefully an all around better person along the way.

I consider myself an analyst and armchair engineer of society, always looking out for ways that things and people can be improved. I focus on students and businesses because that is where most of our time in life goes and is the most ripe for enhancement and renovation. Having just hit my third decade of existence, I have been shown enough examples of failure, both from myself and others, to begin piecing together what could possibly work, and that is all I can promise here. If you wish to find a sure-fire cure to all that ails you, that is not something I can promise. I am in no way a professional problem solver. I am simply someone who has been told all their life just how smart they apparently are and finally found a way to (hopefully) show it.

If you wish to contact me, please see the link at the top of this page for more information.
